Thank you to everyone who participated in our monthly Robertson County Health Council Meeting this afternoon.  We had some incredible generative discussion and shared valuable resources with one another.

Thank you also to our presenter, Dr. Shana Dowell, Medical Director with Vanderbilt Center for Women’s Health located on the NorthCrest Campus!  Dr. Dowell gave us a reassuring overview of the OB/Gyn services being offered in our community – Vanderbilt and HCA have come to an agreement for Women’s Services at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.  This means they are providing not only outpatient services through their clinic, they are also providing women’s services at the hospital including delivery and surgical services for female patients.  Vanderbilt Center for Women’s Health is located at 500 NorthCrest Drive, Suite 522, Springfield, TN  37172.  Phone:  (615) 382-2619

  • David Long, Presumptive Eligibility and CoverKids Program Director with the Department of Health, opened discussions about PE and some hurdles they are experiencing with clients who attempt to access medical care with PE documentation provided.  Many of these clients will not be reflected as covered in the insurance verification system, however the PE documentation with a client’s PHI is considered a verified document.  David is open to discussions on ways to improve clinic acceptance of PE documentation and ways to improve access to healthcare for newly covered individuals.  Please reach out to him directly:  david.a.long@tn.gov
