New Business:

NorthCrest President and CEO Randy Davis provided a spotlight presentation on NorthCrest Medical Center. Mr. Davis has been with the hospital for 11 years and has served as CEO for 6 years. He discussed the hospital’s recent Community Health Needs Assessment and its role in the community. The assessment was done by looking at the top 10 health needs in the community and selecting the 5 they felt they could have the most direct impact on. He stressed that “today’s hospital is not yesterday’s hospital.” They have rebranded themselves and now are a model for overall health care needs. They are a 501(c)3 hospital with their own foundation, and although they are not a pediatric hospital, they are excited about their partnership with Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital. They want to focus on things that are important to the community while meeting the needs of the hospital to keep it strong and solvent. They want to be impactful by working on acute needs, partnering with the community and organizations and creating strategic partnerships to provide needed services.  There were many questions from those in attendance and appreciation was expressed to Mr. Davis for the information shared.

Old Business:

  • Family Resource Center Diversity Coordinator Danielle Frazier’s application was presented and accepted for membership on the Council by a majority vote of those present.
  • The rain ponchos brought in by members were collected and turned over to Brad Evans, a representative of the Sheriff’s Office.  Cash donations were collected by Rachel Goodman. Captain Evans and Lisa Cobb will be responsible for the ponchos distribution to the appropriate organizations. The collected ponchos were the Councils community Christmas outreach. Members were thanked for their donations and their generosity towards helping others.
  • Chair Rebecca Macfarlane stressed she would like to finalize the draft for the 2020 Robertson County Health Council Strategic Plan. She asked that in the few remaining minutes of the meeting the Council divide into three groups based on their interest in the goals identified. They were tasked to review the changes suggested at the November meeting, record any needed revisions or additions and turn their edits into her prior to the end of the meeting. The Chair will present the final draft at the January meeting for adoption and the committees can then start developing a detailed action plan.

Adjournment:

  • The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 pm.
